Software Veteran Lance Melber Joins the Archer Technologies Board of Directors
The former CEO of eSmartloan.com will play a key role in Archer’s global sales strategy and growth as the GRC software industry leader
OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Dec. 3, 2008 – Archer Technologies a provider of enterprise governance, risk and compliance (GRC) solutions, today announced that Lance Melber has joined the Archer Board of Directors. As the former CEO of eSmartloan.com, which was acquired by Capital One in 2005, Melber brings an extensive background as a technology innovator, financial services expert and entrepreneur to his advisory role for Archer’s global sales, field marketing and partner strategies.
“As management of risk and compliance continues to dominate the economic landscape, Archer Technologies is well positioned to take advantage of the expanding marketplace with a rare combination of superior, scalable technology and unmatched customer service,” said Melber. “This is an exciting time for Archer as they are experiencing rapid growth, and I am thrilled to be part of such an innovative company.”
Melber founded eSmartloan.com in 2001 and in four years built the company into the Internet’s premier home equity lender by creating a highly automated, proprietary lending platform along with a first-class consultative sales staff. The company held the honor of top home equity lender for three straight years on the LendingTree network.
After selling eSmartloan.com to Capital One, Melber remained the acting president for the new Capital One Home Loans. In less than two years, the company tripled in employees and increased its loan volume from $1.2 billion to $3.8 billion.
“As a seasoned financial services and technology veteran with more than 25 years of experience, Lance brings an incredible depth of knowledge to the Archer Board of Directors, and we are fortunate to have him,” said Jon Darbyshire, Archer president and CEO. “Lance will play a pivotal advisory role for Archer as we expand our global presence and continue to advance our technology platform.”
Melber joins existing Board members Jon Darbyshire; Tara Darbyshire, executive vice president of business development and sales for Archer; Ben Nye, managing director for Bain Capital Ventures; and Todd McLean, a director also with Bain. In addition to serving on the Archer Board of Directors, Melber is a Board member for the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce and the publicly traded Tree.com.
